This old yard closed in '72. By '75, over 1700 cars were scrapped, leaving about 200 of the most complete or most interesting at the time. Pretty much untouched property since.

Inspiration

Well, what do you look forward to on days off?

A fresh lead, roadtrip, hiking, tracking... Places like this are disappearing. They are equally endangered via politics and EPA - yet receive no government protection like animals do. Visit them like zoos, 'cept here one can feed freely. =)
